For working people in 2025, we face dire times, the frontal attacks on all union and democratic rights as well as the privatization of public jobs and public education are an existential threat to our lives.The rise of fascism is a threat to our brothers and sisters in every community.
Unions and working people have the power and in history they have shown that when they unite and mobilize they can win and defend all people.
This year’s LaborFest will have events that focus on the defense of public services and public education, the threat of AI to workers and the public with the growing power of the techno fascists who are not only in Silicon Valley and SF but in the White House. We will also look at the fight to get healthcare for all.
We will have book presentations on labor and working class history and its relevance today as well as presentations from workers from Africa to Latin America.
LaborFest will also present a play on robots and poetry and words from labor and working class writers.
The solidarity of all working people is growing and when our immigrant brothers and sisters are under assault from thugs and being terrorized labor must stand together. It is and was immigrant workers who built San Francisco and our country and this is our history.
