Coulda beens & wannabes
Thirty years ago riphouse was on their way to the top – outdrawing headliners with innovative songwriting and gaining record label interest. They had everything going for them, except themselves.
Coulda beens & wannabes tells the tragic story of riphouse, a metal band from congers, ny that were on their way to becoming the next metallica. It provides a first hand look at what it took to endure the musical landscape of the late 1980s and early 1990s, and cross that thin line between rock stardom and musical obscurity. The film parallels their story with professional insights from genre legends including bobby "Blitz" ellsworth (over kill), steve "Zetro" souza (exodus), rob dukes (ex-exodus & generation kill), don jamieson (co-host that metal show), as well as members of gwar and mobile deathcamp.
