12:30pm: Tune Workshop
Strings Music Pavilion
String players of all instruments and abilities are invited to this all-level workshop. Learn Danish String Quartet tunes in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Participants should be able to learn a simple folk tune by ear.
7pm: Danish String Quartet
Music for the Community: Pay what you can! Attendees are invited to pay what they can and choose seats anywhere in the Pavilion.
Renowned for the palpable joy they exude in music-making, the Grammy-nominated Danish String Quartet has become one of today’s most in-demand string quartets, performing to sold-out concerts around the world. The Danish String Quartet’s inventive and intriguing programming and repertoire choices have produced critically acclaimed original projects and commissions as well as popular arrangements of Scandinavian folk music. The Danish String Quartet, Musical America’s 2020 Ensemble of the Year, comes to Strings to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of their folk album, Wood Works, as part of their immersive Tunes & Trads Festival.
