Celebrate Dia de los Muertos at the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park with altars that represent a variety of Latin American cultural traditions, live music and dance performances, an art display, food and drink vendors, a procession through the park, and more. Family Zones will offer face- or arm- painting for kids, arts and crafts, storytelling in Spanish, and other activities.
Schedule of Events:
10:00 am - 5:00 pm: Altar viewing and art display
10:00 am - 4:00 pm: Make-and-take crafts, including monarch butterflies and tissue-paper papel picado
10:30 am: Cuentos en el Museo (bilingual Spanish-English storytelling)
11:00 am - 5:00 pm: Musical entertainment and food and drink vendors on the North Lawn. Purchase tacos, pan de muerto, and other baked goods from El Chico Bakery. There will also be tamales, street corn, hot dogs, beer, margaritas, and soft drinks, plus recorded and live musical entertainment.
12:00 pm - 4:00 pm: Face-painting (free for kids 18 and under, $12 for adults)
01:00 pm - 3:00 pm: Live music by Anna Iriarte on the North Lawn
02:00 pm - 4:00 pm: Dance performances by Alma de Mexico St. Louis
