Our Memorial Day Parade is intended and devoted to:
- Provide community spirit and patriotism.
- Promote honor and remembrance for those that have made personal sacrifices to serve our country during the efforts of preserving our liberties as an American People.
- Draw attention to the true meaning of Memorial Day as a holiday that honors our great heroes that have served and currently serve our country and community.
Come honor the service and sacrifices of our veterans and those who serve today by marching in the parade, sponsoring a specialty unit, volunteering, or join us to just watch the parade. This is Bedford’s only Hometown Parade and it is a highly attended annual event.
The Parade will step off at 1 PM at Bedford High School driveway and we march down to County Road and up to Liberty Hill Road and end at McKelvie Intermediate School where visitors may take in the sights and sounds of the afternoon with various vendors set-up on the school grounds ready to serve refreshments including the Bedford Men's Club and more.
Each year, the residents of Bedford are joined by visitors who line up to catch a glimpse of the parade and the various groups and organizations to show their community spirit.
Although we have many parade favorites participating over the years, the parade committee is always looking for new entries and community groups interested in becoming part of this neighborhood tradition.
